Delight
As believers, we are in Christ -New creatures, and old things are gone for good. Yes, we are the children of God, the true light is now shining let us also shine as light. Shining as light not under a bushel, not in your closet; afraid of what they might say, what could happen if I do as I ought to be doing as light.
See, walking as light is an evidence of our relationship and fellowship with Him, and this should be our DELIGHT. A delight that changes and turn men around, making an encounter with you an encounter with God
For example, look at Daniel who was a statesman in Babylon -amidst the idol worshippers and blabbers, ferocious fire, corrupt statesmen and a pit with lions- having trust in God and standing by what he believed, he made the king give Glory to Our God.
Look at Naomi, Ruth had an encounter with her and this led to her place in the genealogy of Christ.
Look at Abraham, through him Lot had a footprint in history.
And Look at Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith through whom we were redeemed, and our lives are (being) changed.
As light we ought to repel the darkness.
You are the light of the world, a city set upon a hill, which means you are always visible for who you are in Christ, nobody is hidden from you and you are not hidden from others, but always being looked up to. Setting a standard as a person of influence. (Romans 13 vs 12-14)
In faith, we can accomplish great things that glorify God. So in your meeting with people, Love them (which is the New Commandment), help and comfort them.
Thank God for His Spirit within us that helps and teaches us especially in the Love department and shining as light starting from our home to our neighbourhood and then to the world. You are the vessel of change in your community, and you can be a channel of encounter, a medium to one’s transformation
Let us delight in being light that shows the path and brings enlightenment, encouragement and comfort to others as they in turn glorify God.
