Service

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12 vs 1-2).

Definitely the above verses state the need for a doing both to the mind and body i.e. the inner building and the outward building (service). Before we move on, let’s do some equations;
Pleasing means- to satisfy, good, acceptable, delightful… yeah?

It is written that "without faith, it is impossible to please God."- Heb 11 vs 6
So we can joyfully say, to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God has to be in faith. Which means that whatever we do has to be in faith, through faith (Heb 6 vs 12), of faith (Heb 10 vs 22) and by faith (Heb 10 vs 23). You can also see James 2 vs 18

Just want to make sure we get in the flow of faith as we get along.

In our service, which should be in the framework of faith, we bring ourselves to a place of ENCOUNTER. A point of meeting for a change or a leap.
Like Malcom Gladwell would say, a tipping point- the point in which the change occurs after several actions (look at a stone breaker). By faith we know grace is sufficient to serve, so we could if we would!

When I say an encounter, I mean a meeting in which life changes for you or an entire body you belong, or a launching into something you are destined for.
Look for example, the disciples could have decided to stop their service and communion with each other and missed the Pentecost, but still they rendered service and encountered the Pentecost (Acts 2). Also Zacharias, when in his service, had an encounter  with the messenger of God though things hadn’t been well, as he was childless even till his old age; yet he still kept serving.

Hmm.. You might want to pick out consistency as part of the value chain to an encounter, all the same you can't be serving without being consistent, although during service you meet people who will try to frustrate, belittle and take you for granted but serving in faith means all these might happen but your convictions are still strong based on the word of God, "that though weeping might endure for a night but Joy cometh in the morning", and thatt"God is not unjust to forget your labour of love."

Service is an outward war against the soul, deliberately being furnished for the furniture maker to make use of: a vessel into honour!
Service should be done not in reluctance but willingly and with diligence, without partiality (Matthew 10 vs 40-42). See also John 12 vs 26.

Even as an individual, when people come in contact with you, you can be a medium of their change -because only God changes- or a qualification for a new beginning. Looking at Mathew 10 vs 40-42, rendering service won’t go unrewarded by God Himself.

Are you serving today?  Serve, and in no time, you'll come to experience His reward. But stay in the framework of faith while serving, for without faith, you please men only, not God.
