PROSPERITY.
Prosperity,
we all try to get it in life. Sadly, only A FEW get it. I don’t
mean riches, fame, worldly achievements or success in the secular world. Sadly
again, many don’t know the difference between these and “prosperity”.
It is possible to have “all the money in the world”,
yet be far from prosperous; that’s because “true prosperity comes from God, God
alone.
Prosperity
from God isn’t the “gra-gra or lesekese”(instant)
kind of blessing a lot of us want nowadays. Not only do you have to work hard
to achieve it; you have to grow to get it, not physical growth, but spiritual
growth. Many folks don’t go to church, and those who go do so
just to fulfill all righteousness, get inspired, receive miracles, and so on.
Only a few “hear and do” diligently to grow spiritually... Where
do you stand?

John1:2 is the law for prosperity, “prospering as one’s soul
prospers”. A law which many of us break, neglect or avert to get rich. Such are called ungodly
as seen in Psalm 73:12. Some Christians are like this, having dormant spiritual
growth, but growth in their finances and resources. Most of those who have
financial growth without any spiritual growth are more controlled by the
ego-driven and lusty nature of the flesh. That’s why they live their lives anyhow,
committing sin without any remorse. It is written in Proverbs 28:13 that such
won’t prosper. According to 1 Kings 2:3, we must, walk in God’s
ways, keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments and His testimonies,
that we may prosper… which most of us don’t. Funny how we don’t do these
(assiduously) and yet we keep asking God for “prosperity in whatever we lay our hands
on”.
For
you to be prosperous, you have to get your mind renewed daily; allowing the “Spirit”
to have greater possession of your mind and the devil (or flesh), little or
none. Doing this, you give God a chance to, teach you to prosper as He speaks
to you and you can hear Him clearly and distinctly. Unlike when your mind isn’t
renewed, and you start getting interfering signals from God and the devil,
making it difficult for your mind to discern whose voice you are hearing.
Psalm 1:3
From
these, we can say, to have God’s kind of prosperity, you must set
yourself apart from the world, and for God. I’m not necessarily referring to the
people in the world, but the sinful nature that’s currently dominating the world. But
people don’t want to consecrate, set themselves apart for God, live for,
and Hope for His Glory. This is probably because they see it as “boring
and uncool”, serving God with all your heart, I mean. I don’t
really blame them for that thought or mindset, because to be honest, some
Christians have so mixed “religion and wrong doctrine”
with Christianity. But still, that’s not an excuse, there are some cool and
true Christians out there you can learn from.
Why
does God want you set apart before He can freely and fully prosper you? That’s
because, only then can God entrust you with such blessings, knowing that you’ll
desire more like Him and according to His Will, giving rightly “out
of Love” for His Kingdom and to those in the world. And He wants you
to set a standard for those in your generation, and those to come.
Don’t
go around chasing the temporary things of this world, forever chase after God,
seek His face, wait “actively” for His Kingdom, live to please God and
reveal His Glory. Do these and watch how God will make you prosper, firstly in
your spiritual life and in all other things you lay your hands on, according to
His Will. Prosperity from God comes by patience and great contentment with the
little we have; and it comes with Peace, that which surpasses all
understanding.
Psalm 37:11,34
Don’t limit
yourself, God wants to make you a wonder to the world; don’t
sell your birth right for a plate of porridge… He wants you to lend to nations. (Deut 28:1-14)
Proverbs 10:22
Grace be with you. Amen!
