God has given the Believer "Rest"... not a break from Labour.

In Matt 11:28, The Captain of our Salvation said He'll give the Believer Rest; but then He also continued, saying we will also find rest for our souls.

See that scripture talks about 2 different rest.

The first " Rest" is one from "works unto righteousness " i.e Salvation of the Spiritman, what we call "The New Birth" and need I say it is independent of our works but solely on the Finished works of Christ; it is by Grace(Eph2:8). And this is the foundation upon which the Believer's life is built upon, irrespective of the past (2Cor 5:17)...

Before I go on about the 2nd rest....
I believe you should know that Rest- outside the context of salvation- is not a break from our labour in ministry, academics, business, your secular life in general, but "labour according to that which Christ lavishly supplies through Grace" (1Peter4:11). If John said of "His Fullness have we received", then let us wisely channel this Grace into whatever we're involved in.

Let your activities be Holy Spirit directed, not self-centered, ego-driven and carnally minded.

Neglecting the Grace made available to you- is simply repeating what Esau did to his birthright.

But if perhaps you neglected the Grace yesterday, today's a new day to start on the platform of Grace... For His Mercies are new every morning(Lam 3:22) and is Grace, sufficient.

LIVING AT PEACE

   In my 2nd article, I wrote "your definition of peace shouldn't necessarily be that no trials or harm would come your way, but having an assurance that no matter what comes your way, God will always be there to see you through. I know that at this point in time, living a life filled with peace is not that easy due to the economic crisis, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, increase in  all sorts of crime and other things like that. But as true believers that shouldn't bother us, because God said in Psalm 91, summarizing, that "we will live a long and peaceful life"  so it's up to us to believe it. Don't Awaken Love

"Don't awaken Love until it pleases" Three times was this statement made in the book of Songs of Solomon (SOS 2:7, 3:5, 8:4) and I believe that statement needs to be echoed louder in this generation. Welcome to my generation where we want a quick fix,  instant noodles,  fast food,  even Fast and the furious- on a lighter note.  Although the rate of getting somethings done can be accelerated, this doesn't apply to Love. In other words,  Love needs time. Like a butterfly, Love is an organism that metamorphises on its own as the Creator fashioned it to be,  and it develops with Patience There's been an increase in the rate at which break-ups and divorce cases occur and I strongly believe it's tied to this simple reason, we awaken Love too early.
