PARABLE OF THE EAGLETS 2

The second eaglet is symbolic of those in the church who don't take their relationship with God seriously.

As an eaglet grows it has to pass through some training before it becomes a mature eagle... Even though I've never experienced the sight, I know, from some documentaries I've watched, that when an eagle wants to teach her eaglet how to fly; it carries it to a high altitude and drops it. The eagle doesn't drop it from that height to kill it, but to teach it to fly and this is something it'll struggle to do. From the parable, one of the eaglets grew weak and eventually died, this happened because it didn't go through the process diligently. We all know that we can't perform effectively if we don't train ourselves properly. Our pastors and teacher tell us to pray diligently, read, study and do God's word daily e.t.c. They are not doing that to show-off how spiritual they are or something like that (I can't speak for all though), but because Christ wants us to.

I know a lot of us don't (or forget to) pray in the morning, but that must come to an end. Starting a day without praying (especially thanking God) is like trying to cross a river without setting a course. Let's assume you want to get to the other side of a river. By taking your time to determine the speed at which the river is flowing and the speed of your boat, you can easily calculate the direction in which you must head your boat to get your destination directly opposite your starting point. Even if there's any hitch on the way, it'll be easy for you to maneuver your way out of it. But if you set out without planning your course, there'll be a lot of struggling on your way to your destination, and even if you get to the other side, you'll be way off where you planned to arrive at. The same way it is with the spiritual, if you pray and commit your day into God's hands you won't have any need to worry because you mind will(or should) be at rest.

Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established.”
Your definition of peace shouldn't necessarily be that "no trials or harm will come your way" but  "having an assurance that no matter what may come your way, God will always be there to see you through"... Talking about trials, God's children will always have to face them because they're essential for our growth in (and walk with) God. These trials break us (our pride) and make us into what God had in mind when He was creating us (like Christ).   My Pastor wrote “The trials in themselves do not mature us; rather it is the application of prayer and the Word to overcome the trials that mature us. (Acts 20:32 and Jude 1:20)”.

Proverbs 3:11-12 “11 my son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction;   12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.”

Sometimes it may look like God has forgotten about our existence and our walls are just gonna crumble and fall on us(like in Job's case). That's not true, if you listen, you'll hear a still small voice saying repeatedly  "you can make it, you can make it", that's the Holy Spirit's voice(the 3rd person of the God head) and God will NEVER let a challenge come your way, without giving you the power to overcome it. You just have to keep believing in Him, and always remember that; Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

James 5:13 “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.” And when God hears your cry and answers your prayers, give thanks to Him (from the heart), and when He exalts you MAKE SURE you remain humble, lest you end up like Uzziah.
2 Chronicles 26:16 “But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the LORD his God by entering the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.”

James 4:6 “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." NEVER run to man when trouble comes your way, don't seek man's help/ advice UNLESS they're God's servant because God doesn’t like it. 2 Chronicles 16:7&9 “7And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him: "Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the LORD your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand…9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars."

Back to prayer, your prayer life should not revolve around yourself and your physical needs neither should it be done once in a while. You must pray without ceasing not for your physical needs alone, but most importantly your spiritual growth in Christ and the lives of those around you and your circumstances.  Also pray that His will may be revealed to you(Jeremiah 33:3).The Bible (Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth) contains God's perfect will concerning our lives, the more you study and meditate on His word , the more you know about God and His reason for creating you. (Joshua 1:8)  << I’ll talk more about this later in my articles>>. You'll see in the life of David that he faced a lion and a bear before facing Goliath. If he didn't defeat the animals, he couldn’t have had the courage and strength to walk up to Goliath, challenge him in God's name and defeat him...

1 Sam 17:34,35,45 “34 But David said to Saul, "Your servant used to keep his father's sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it…45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”

... If we don't pass through the lion and the bear stage (training) where will we find the strength to defeat the devil on the 'great and dreadful day' of the Lord? Someone once said "The more we sweat during the training, the less blood we'll lose during the battle. Sometimes you might say to yourself "look at these unbelievers enjoying and living life to the fullest, and I'm here serving God day in and day out with little to enjoy in this life". Don’t worry, because the money, gold and diamond they're spending is NOTHING compared to the streets of gold you'll walk on in heaven (Rev 21:21), talk less of the glory that awaits you there.

James 2:5 ” Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?”.Romans 8:18 “ For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”. As you pass through this training stage, you must gradually do away with the sinful nature and the desires of the world. Gal 5:16,24 “16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh… 24

And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
.......Oh! And whenever you feel like the devil is really on your case and he is trying to bring you down, just remember these 3 scriptures: Philippians 4:13 ” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 “And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 1 John 4:4 “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
