From Grace to GRACE.

Hello there,  welcome to the month of March,  I pray you progress in knowing God and walking in His Will,  even as He reveals more of His plan for your life this month In Jesus' Name. Amen!

So this month,  we'll be doing a character study, Joseph- Israel's Beloved, and we, your writers, we'll be enlightening you on the lessons we learnt from this remarkable Leader's Life.

Quick intro,  I'm sure you know Joseph,  the 1st apple of his father's eye,  the guy who had the robe of many colours, who had dreams of becoming great and he rubbed in it his brother's face. Yes he did.
Let me not lengthen this write up with his background (Genesis 37),  and go straight to my point.

So here's the dreamer, and he find himself in Egypt after his brothers sold him to their cousins (the Ishmaelites). He finds himself in Potiphar's house as a slave,  but then Joseph's fear of God, integrity and a heart of selfless service take him to the top and he becomes Potiphar's House keeper,  Personal assistant, his accountant, serving faithfully.
But just when he thinks he is living the life, he finds himself in the King's prison after being falsely accused of attempted rape by Potiphar's wife. Grrr!
One might think Joseph went from "Grace to Grass ", but I beg to differ.
See, although Joseph was in a less comfortable environment, I believe he went from "Grace to GRACE".

You'll have to agree with me that it takes God's Grace to become one whom the Prison keeper can trust, and to serve faithfully even over those who don't deserve it.
This also reminds me of Jesus,  how that though he knew no sin,  he was falsely accused by those he loved and served, and he became a prisoner in hell for 3 days, Gloriously and Victoriously   redeeming us in the end.

Even though this wasn't mentioned explicitly in the Bible, I'm pretty sure that when Joseph was in the prison,  other prisoners would have gone through a rehabilitation process,  and some might even been pardoned based on good character because they met a man of Integrity, Joseph.
There are many lessons you can learn from this young man,  but I'll focus on this one: that Joseph served those who did not deserve it. This is Love,  he  revealed God's Character.

Please ask yourself the following
1. What's my motive for service?
2. Even when those whom I serve don't deserve it,  will I still serve with a heart of Love and Integrity, and pray for them?

It takes God's Grace to serve those who don't deserve it,  but hey, look to Jesus Christ,  He served to the end even while we were in our worst state. Why not ask him to help you? That He may strengthen you by His Spirit in your inner man, for He's your ever present help in time of need.

He won't give up on you,  please don't give up on them.
Lastly, I'll add this when Joseph was in prison he wasn't so conscious of his predicament that he left others,  rather he carried others burdens,  interpreting the dreams of the Chief Butler and the Chief baker. And when it was time for his breakthrough, this same Butler was tube instrument God used in announcing Joseph. Selah!

Grace be with you.
