LIBERTY

2 Corinthians 3:17: “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” KJV.
Genesis 41:38: “so Pharaoh asked his officials, can we find anyone else like this man so obviously filled with the Spirit of God?” NLT

It’s amazing that one of the Bible’s most beloved heroes started out as a bratty, spoiled teenager. Haters will say I like to hold on to the past but really, I’ve seen that you can make a beautiful story out of hiSTORY. See what I did there? *rubs hands with glee*
So let’s start from the very beginning…the events that led to Joseph’s kidnap, imprisonment and subsequent liberation.

Joseph = Jose Mourinho= The special one
From the outset, Joseph was destined to be his father Jacob’s favourite child. Love and adoration for his mother Rebecca had caused Jacob to slave away for 14 years! Joseph was the child of his love born after a succession of children from a not so beloved wife, Leah; and so it’s no surprise that he earned a higher dose of his father’s affection.
Joseph grew up being daddy’s little boy, donning a designer coat (from the United Colours of Benetton), constantly ratting out his older brothers- younger siblings what is with you guys and this Harry Potter genes though?
He was a pretty obnoxious dude who hadn’t learned to write visions down and not announce them! His big mouth just fuelled the jealousy in his brothers’ heart which led him into being sold into slavery.

Lessons:
·         As parents or aspiring parents, constantly as God for grace to love your kids just as Christ loves you! Jacob’s preference for one child created a family rift spanning several years.
·         When God gives you a dream it’s yours to guard diligently! Write the vision that it may inspire you to run diligently (Habakuk2:3), speak Words to frame them into being (Hebrews 12:1) but never be boastful about them to spite others!

Fine boys= Prey for their Master’s wife
Right? Wrong answer! Joseph was a diligent servant and brought blessing into his master’s household. What’s that saying about Men of God bring blessings in a bag? I guess foxy Mrs Potiphar wanted the blessings a little more personally…when Joseph was confronted with defiling her he fled!
Flee from every appearance of evil the Bible says, I guess most theologians would recommend that Joseph had run away sooner but I dare say he was walking in a perfect timing pre-ordained by God.
At just that the right time, Joseph was imprisoned!! Can I hear a hallelujah? Naw, I’m not mean just tryna paint the story of Liberation more colourfully…like a certain somebody’s coat.

The prison provided an atmosphere for Joseph to…fan into flames his gift. The Spirit of God in believers today is available for much more than Joseph’s time you know and works in more dimensions of gifting! Issa win!
Prior to the prison and even in the prison, Joseph was described as a man whom the Lord was with (Genesis 39:3, Genesis 39:23). It took staying in that Egyptian dungeon for a proper manifestation of God’s Spirit leading to his final and complete liberation!

Lessons:
·         Joseph maintained a steady track record of being a good manager of affairs whether of his father, master or Prison warden.
·         Your dungeon moments are definitely leading up to liberation! As long as you’re a believer, you have the Spirit of God who produces liberty in all, from all and for all things.

Remember how this post started? Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. As Joseph interpreted the King’s dream it was as if scale fell off eyes “the Lord was with him” became “so obviously filled with the Spirit of God”. His liberty came from a revelation of God’s Spirit to all men present.

How does this concern us now?
Be so filled with the Spirit of God that Kings see your light and bow to your God.
Be so filled by constantly fellowshipping with the very Spirit that resides on you.

Move from being the tactical one to the special one.
Lol.
It’s just Chelsea is on a roll these days so I’m level 5000 glad. (check out “adarraa on instagram to get the “5000” jokes)
Lots of love,

Deb.
