ASKING FROM GOD.

Luke 11:9 And I say to you, ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN YOU. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you.

The above is a very familiar scripture to us all, both the believers and the non-believers. The underlined text says “ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN YOU”. Jesus didn’t specify what He wants us to ask from Him; which means He’s expecting us to ask of “whatever” we want. But let’s be honest, we don’t always get “everything/ whatever we ask from God” you agree with me, right? It’s not God’s nature to ever lie, so why don’t we get “whatever we ask of Him?
Here are some conditions revealed to me in the Bible;

-- John 14:14 If you ask anything in MY NAME, I will do it.
His Name, the Sweetest and Most-Powerful of all… God’s not a genie we make a wish to, or a star we can wish upon, we pray to Him “in Jesus’ name”. Yeah, I know we all do this… By the way, when you say His Name, say it with “Authority and Undoubting Faith”.

-- Deuteronomy 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on you and overtake you, if you will LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF JEHOVAH YOUR GOD
…and as you hearken/ obey His commandments/ word. So I’ll ask, “how often do we listen to His voice/ obey His commandments? Seldom, I guess. Some find it difficult to read/ study His Word, talk less of keeping and doing what His Word/Commandment says. His Voice, we barely listen to it, probably because it’s “boring, not-daring, care-free, old –fashioned”, yeah? Unlike the other voice whose ideas are “fun, daring, pleasurable, and so on” you know what I mean.
But not only must we study, listen and do, we must also DELIGHT in them, and in God.
Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself also in Jehovah, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

This condition “kinda” disqualifies some of us, right? *sighs* May GOD have Mercy on us.

--1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to HIS WILL, He hears us.
His Will, it’s only revealed to those who listen to His Voice and hearken to His Commandments, it’s like His Secrets. Like us, He doesn’t share it with just anyone.
Stop praying the self- centered, need-oriented, ego-driven and lusty kind of prayer and start praying according to His Will. If you want to pray according to God’s Will, get ready to pray for others too, those you know and those you don’t… even your enemies. (Ephesians 6:18,1 Timothy 4:10)

-- James 1:6-7 But let him ask in FAITH, DOUBTING NOTHING. For he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. (7) For do not let that man think that he shall receive anything from the Lord.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, BELIEVING, you shall receive.

FAITH it’s the main ingredient of an effective and fervent prayer, without which it is impossible to please God. I won’t talk much about it here Discern before you act in faith; make sure you diligently and fearlessly hold fast to it till you get the results or see manifestation.

-- John 16:24 Before now you have asked nothing in My name; ask and you shall receive, that your JOY may be full.

James 4:3 You ask and receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it upon your lusts.

The verses clearly imply that when we ask from God, we should do so with an intention of being joyful in the end, not so we can be happy that he gave us the things we lustfully asked for or desired.
Asking should also be about the Spiritual, like asking for His Life, His Grace, Mercy, Strength… that we may effectively strive to become like Christ, after which we will be filled with JOY, when we appear with Him in Glory.

Romans 14:17 says “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and JOY in the Holy Spirit.”

Also Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.
3 John 1:2 Beloved, in regard to ALL things I pray that you prosper and be in health, even as your SOUL prospers.

So when you become like Christ you will receive “whatever” you ask from God. Shikena!
And you must wait “patiently” on God for your answers. I wrote in the article on HOPE “Patience isn’t just about waiting; it’s about keeping a right attitude while waiting.”

Grace be with y’all. Amen! 
