MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE (Luke 4:4).

Luke 4:4 “And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written that "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God." we usually interpret this as "man shall not live feeding on food alone but by feeding on His Word (the bible) too", true that. Let’s take this deeper, shall we?

John 6:35 And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes on Me shall never thirst.

Here, Jesus said He is the bread of life, and how do we get this bread? By coming to Him, giving our life to Christ, receiving Salvation that’s how we get the “bread”. Now look at the scripture “Luke 4:4” from this context "man shall not live by "receiving salvation or coming to Me" alone-but by believing in Christ, and His Word”. See d latter part of this quote corresponds to John 6:35b which says "... and he who “believes on Me” shall never thirst". Jesus wants us to believe and have faith in Him and His Word. So Jesus "clearly says" on the surface level that He wants us to feed on Him, and drink of Him. But let's be realistic; if we only ate and drank even the best food in the world without exercise we'd be unhealthy. The same with the spiritual, don’t just "eat drink and be merry", but exercise too. How? By keeping and doing God's Word and acting fearlessly on it on a daily consistent basis, walking with Him by faith. Romans 1:17 says” … the just shall live by faith”. Drawing near God daily (eating), believing in Him and His Word (drinking), and doing His Word (exercising). That's how God wants us to live as Believers, who worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Don't just stop at giving your life to Christ (30 fold), or at believing in Him and His Word without doing (60 fold like most of us), when you can go the whole mile and be a born again, a believer in His Word, and also a doer, one who walks with God by faith(100 folds). Don’t be a "spiritually unhealthy" Christian.

James 1:23-25- For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man studying his natural face in a mirror. (24) For he studied himself and went his way, and immediately he forgot what he was like. (25) But whoever looks into the perfect Law of liberty and continues in it, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work. This one shall be blessed in his doing.

Grace be with you all.
